Thanks for the tip, I just downloaded/installed acidrip using a
terminal command (took about 90 seconds for the download/install), type
in acidrip in a terminal to run acidrip and it looks pretty useful for
ripping DVDs. 007 give it a try. I suspect on Ubuntu linux you would
open a terminal, see if it is already installed by typing
acidrip
and if it is not installed type
sudo aptitude install acidrip
or perhaps
sudo apt-get install acidrip
Then once installed just open a terminal and type
acidrip
to run the program.
