Ubuntu Upgrade Woes


I've just upgraded from dapper to edgy. The display is now a mess.
Dragging a window on the desktop isn't smooth, looks like a redraw
problem. And scrolling in Firefox isn't smooth. It's become almost
unusable.

Also, there are now only two workspaces. Is there some way to set it back
to the four that it used to be?
