Re: What is the command for?

Hello,

I'm a Linux newbie.

I'd like to know the CLI command to find out which folder is using what
amount of space?

The df command tells me all the partitions, what is using how much and
what is loaded where, but that is not sufficient for me. I want folder
by folder breakdown.

The CLI way is "du * in it's variations. As an example, you can get a sorted
list by size with "du -k|sort -n".
"du --help" will give a good overview.
