You should use iwconfig to setup the wlan and not ifconfig

I'm using a HP Pavilion notebook and no problem at all with the BCM card with
the ndiswrapper.

It might have been iwconfig that showed no net ip, I can not recall
actually. I do use iwconfig lots, used it on my previous laptop wifi
(also a broadcom, used linuxant.com wrapper). I sure wish I could get
this one working with ndiswrapper. I will keep trying a bit more.
