2. the PS/2 cable between the Linux box and the switch is broken somewhereoption two was the solution. first hardware failure i've had. never
(easy test, switch the mouse cable between the two computers)
even considered hardware failure on a new unit. went down to the shop
replaced the lead and all was well. determined cable failure from your
switching example. I always assume its software first on a new
installation. Thanks again
