Thanks for your email, J.O. If you look at the xorg.conf file, I believe I AM setting the HSync and VRefresh manually for both of my monitors (I've looked up the specs for both). How do I disable DDC?

That's interesting about the DVI2VGA dongle, but I'm not using one.

I think the problem has something to do with this warning in my
Xorg.0.log file:

(WW) RADEON(0): Failed to detect secondary monitor DDC, default HSync
and VRefresh used

You could set those manually and disable DDC, if you can't find the
manual for the secondary monitor, then take a look at the manufactures
home page.

The DDC problem may occur when using a DVI2VGA dongle.
