Thank you so much for the info. I was on FC a few minutes ago which hanged
and only the mouse could move. Ideally, in Windows, one can just press Ctrl,
Alt, Del and choose to end the "Not Responding" task. What would be the
equivalent in Linux(any flavour).

If the mouse only works, it tend to hint that there is something wrong with the graphics driver and/or X, as they keyboard tend to not work, no key combination will work (sadly prevents you to switch to console too). This has been somewhat frequent problem when using the closed source drivers from nVidia and ATi.

Usually, as Michael pointed out, the rest is still working, if you have access to another machine, you could shh into the machine and kill X (this of course requires that you did have sshd enabled for the runlevel).

Can you please tell me how can one listen to live radio streaming in Linux.
I have read that XMMS is good. How do I go about it?

I use mplayer for most media stuff, there is a mplayerplugn-in (and plugger) which makes the the browser to launch mplayer to play different kind of streams.

I would advice you to not spend too much time with XMMS, there are distros that are starting to remove it from their official packages, this has to do with XMMS isn't anymore developed and depends on older libraries, which makes it difficult to maintain official packages. There is a XMMS2 too, but don't know if there is any serious plans for any of the distros to include it.
