Nothing of SuSE 9.0 is supported. It, as well as 9.1, and 9.2 are all
officially EOL (End Of Life) The current version is openSUSE 10.2, and you
would be far better served if you upgraded the OS to a supported version
rather than try to keep hacking together an official dead version.

Didn't you suspect something was amiss, when you didn't receive any
security updates for the last year and a half?

I tried using what I found here

(ftp://ftp.suse.com/) as "User-Defined Location" this did not work
either.

Of course it didn't work; it's for a totally different, much later
version.

Could not find "lspci" in the installation for SuSE 9.0.
