Linux-based distributions are a collection of numerous software that do
not necessarily follow the same development guidelines and/or goals. This
lack of overall vision often results in increased complexity, insufficient
integration, and sometimes inefficient solutions, making the use of your
computer more complicated than it should actually be.

Standards are one thing, but conformity in absolutely everything for the
sake of conformity and not permitting anything different is sheer madness as
well as indicative of a lack of any real vision. Innovation comes not from
unnecessary conformity but free thinking and diversity of approach. The
problem, therefore, is not one of diverse Linux distributions but the lack
of appreciating the possibilities resulting from such a paradigm in the
imposition of only one perspective on the industry and the end computer
users.
