You can spin this any way you want, but the fact remains - Linux is
faster, more efficient, and has better memory management - end of
story.
Then why does FF launch so slowly?
For the fun of it, I tested it on my system with www.msn.com, my default
homepage.
IE: Loads quickly, takes several seconds to fully display the site.
Firefox: Loads maybe a second slower, virtually instantly displays the site.
Konqueror: Loads about as fast as IE and displays the site even faster than
firefox.
In all 3 cases all 3 browsers had pictures already cached and IE is the
slowest of them all in the bottom line.
So please...go find something else to worry about. You are wasting far more
time than you can gain by making firefox launch 500ms quicker.
