Exactly why should it become the most hated question? Using Linux isn't
about some exclusive club that's only for techies. It's about choice. If
he wants to use Linux on its own merits or because he's pissed off with
Windows - why not? It's his business.
I notice that Linux distros sometimes suffer from the exact opposite of
MS lock-in - namely lock-out, from a few loud elitist morons who believe
that people who struggle with IT have nothing to find within the Linux
community.

I am learning really to dislike Micro$haft.
Would like to move toward Linux. What is the absolute easiest distro
to use? The easiest would be the best way for me to start.
Yes, of course, I am willing to learn. :-)

I predict this is going to quickly become the most hated question in this
group, and will soon become merely a trigger for the trolls to lash out.
Especially since it is asked here at least 3 times a week, and all the OP
had to do was read the group to get his answer.
I have news for all you disgruntled Windows users who think they can just
skip over to Linux. Once you have to do ANYTHING that goes beyond the
desktop, you are going to find yourself in deep doo-doo.
