I'm having a night mare with Linux. I started years back when the
resolution and Linux was just for geeks. Started with Caldera then
Caldera disappeared and Fedora came to take over. I installed it and
was impressed. Got it to work then started to get this download update
and went ok to F5. F6 came by and missed up my iptables and that was
it; every thing went down the drain since. I lost all my setup .. did
not have any backup. To make things worse my YUM and RPM was removed
under FC6 and could not get'm back even with re-installing FC6 as
update. I decide to have the other empty partition on my computer ready
to re-install FC4 and update it to F5. Will, I did that and now trying
to get the update especially for some Video player programs and can not
get them because the libraries are not just their. If I remember the old
days of Caldera to add it I have to re-compile the Kernel. I accessed
the FC6 partition and copied the needed library from /usr/lib64 to the
FC5 partition but that did not help me when I came to "yum install
mplayer" or other programs which crashed yum and came with error that
I'm still missing libraries even its their in the directory which make
me feel like a newbie again or maybe I'm getting to old for this crab.
Now I'm really frustrated . I got Linux to get red of windows, but now
that I'm waisting a lot of time and every other day a group of other
guys just come and produce their own new Linux version and then started
getting this updates that have new libraries which make the Linux
version compatiblity to non with previous versions which dos not make
sense. It supposed to be easier or after this years of trying to
perfect it now and get to what I want. I am stock and hope some one can
help to get me back on track.
Thanks for any advise,
My "advise" (it's "advice", you illiterate fool) is for you to just
forget all about Linux. You are clearly not cut out to use Linux, and
should just use Windoze. Might not be a bad idea to take some 6th grade
writing lessons while you're at it.
Dan,
What do you hope to accomplish by replying at all to such an obvious troll?
You might as well be arguing with the Jabberwak.
