"ubuntu testing" apt sources

Hi there
In debian I configure the apt sources to get distribution debian "testing", specifying generic name "testing" not specific name like "sarge" so that packages are always taken from the current testing release and my distribution is progressively improved as the time goes on.
Is it possible to do the same with ubuntu?
It seems strange to me that I have to continuously peek the ubuntu.com website to see if they have released another version, then update the apt sources config file manually...
.
