What is de different between slackware and opensuse? I never used
slackware before and I just curious what makes slackware better than
opensuse for people who really want to learn about linux.

I have not used either, but I assume he means that the slack people have
done less to try to make setting up the computer easy than have the
opensuse people. this is along the lines of "real programmers only use
assembler" because all of those fancy programming languages get in the way
of really appreciating the archtecture of the computer chip.
In ALL versions of linux you can get your hands as dirty as you want. They
all allow the use of the command line and editing config files by hand.
Some also give you tools to do it as well, to make some of those jobs
easier if you want that, while others force you to get in there and grub
around from day one.

I would advise you to get a distro that sets things up for you as
much as possible-- because you can always get in there and learn and hack
if you want to. Having the computer do things for you is a good thing, that
is what computers are for. Of course in some distros, the "help" is in fact
a hinderance, and the distro designers messed things up instead of helping.
(I use Mandriva, which I find great, but they decided that noone should
ever want ctrl-alt-del to shut down the system, so if you set it up to do
so, they have a script which changes it back to rebooting for you instead.
A disaster for laptops. This meant that I then had to find the file in
which that "fix" was incorporated and change that file as well.)
