You are right--I opened a terminal and added the permissions again and
lo and behold Kino once again shows my camcorder and I can control it
from kino. Captured video is not really working, but something is
happening (captured clips are stopped at about 200kilobytes and have
no content except black nothing). I am updating some hal and hal
abstraction laters from ubuntu update manager, that might help. Kino
is 0.9.2 I will see if there is a more current version for ubuntu 7.06
.
