Re: [OT]: Customizable lightweight display manager

On 2007-06-26, Rob S <Here@home> rambled on thusly:

I'm looking for light weight display manager that have features like kdm
or gdm (you can set your own background, icon, theme, etc). At this
moment I'm using xdm which rather ugly if you compare it against kdm or
gdm (or maybe I should read more about it??).
Anybody know where I have to look at?

xfce, flwm, fvwm, fluxbox, xswm, blackbox, icewm. Plenty of lightweight
windows managers around, but when you start wanting ic0ns, themes etc,
then your lightweight wm isn't quite so light anymore.

My favorite light managers are xfce, fluxbox and fvwm-crystal.

You may want to re-read the OP post. He wasn't asking about window
managers, he was asking about Display Managers. You know, the logon screen
that pops up where you can select which window manager/desktop environment
you want to launch? That is very, VERY different from a window manager.

One clue should've been the examples that he gave (gdm, kdm).
