Actually, no... Ubuntu fucked with partitions, etc. incorrectly. Could

bad software, could be PEBKAC. One thing that it wasn't was Windows as

You're guessing and Noozer is guessing. Computers don't guess but they do
obey 0
& 1 instructions. I don't know what borked the system. Here are the most
common
causes I am aware of from Windows slaves when they're placing blame on a
failed
installation and are saying, "it's Linux that did it"
1) the slave failed to pre-read what he should do and, therefore, acted
impatiently and from the standpoint of continued ignorance
2) the poster screwed things up, is too stupid to realize it or needs to
blame
something
3) the poster is a lying troll
I'm not guessing. The user tried to install one distro and it refused to
install, with what appeared to be issues with the current partitioning.
Correct and proper, assuming that there were real issues.
Then the user tried Ubuntu and it happily ignored the problems and trashed
the Windows installation.
You can't blame Windows for this one. Either the user really had an issue
and just kept pushing until it finally broke, or Ubuntu is missing some
necessary code to check for problems on the drive.
