Re: Any Insider Knowledge when CNR will be ready for Linspire, and the other distro's?

Horton heard a Who named Pete saying:
Linspire keeps promising "very soon" but we have a string of broken
promises. They promise CNR for Linspire, Freespire, then Debian, Ubuntu,
Fedora, openSuse. I'm dying to get this.

OK, so I read about it:
[quote]

What is CNR? CNR is a one-click digital software delivery service for desktop
Linux applications, libraries and packages. With the CNR® Service you can
install over 20,000 Linux software applications and packages directly from the
CNR® Warehouse - all with just a single click. In fact, the CNR Service is the
easiest way to install Linux software. Simply click the software you want and it
installs on your computer and is ready to run. And the CNR Service gives you
more than just one-click access to tons of free software. You also get a
powerful, easy way to manage your entire software library. Like customizable
aisles where you can install entire groups of software with a single click.
Perfect for setting up a new computer!

ANY good package manager does that! Geez. It's available with
Synaptic _NOW_. Why would I _*pay*_ for CNR?

Here, this is what you might like - it's available on Ubuntu:

"There is a new program called gnome-app-install that shows a simple list of
common GNOME programs with a checkbox for installation or removal.

and

from http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/gnome/gnome-app-install

"Package: gnome-app-install (0.3.30)
GNOME Application Installer

A pretty application installer for GNOME. It can also search for mime types or
gstreamer codecs."

That sounds just like your kinda thing - except it's free.

The only way to make Windows "secure":
1) go to http://goodbye-microsoft.com
2) replace existing operating system.
