If your NNTP does not provide for use of things like XPAT then leafnode
still gives you more control. If you are behind a router it shouldn't
matter if you have 'another service running' unless you are forwarding
the port so you can access it outside your home network. I just use
XNews from the office. Most of my reading/posting is from home these
days anyway.
