Horton heard a Who named SINNER saying:

Dan C., I decided to cease using leafnode after considering your point re:
direct news server and DSL connection. It's not needed in my situation.
If your NNTP does not provide for use of things like XPAT then leafnode<snip>
still gives you more control.
Yo SINNER! My ISP doesn't do XPAT. I'll keep an eye on the junk and see if it
matters. Kept the config files for leafnode - just in case. Thanks for the
mention. Here are my current general filters in News/score:

Seems to be keeping things reasonably "quiet" so far. I did score against Mi5,
tho'.
Do you know how to set system-wide filters on slrn? And, also number of
cross-posts permitted to be seen (for controlling spammers like Mi5)? Lastly,
just in case, can slrn control line size? I typically block more than 400 lines.
Thank you,

The only way to make Windows "secure":
1) go to http://goodbye-microsoft.com
2) replace existing operating system.
