Unless you want a peice of junk ...
Don't buy anything that is not a well used, solid, tried and true,
standard (of course some *like* being on the bleeding edge and trying
junk that "halfway" to "does not" work).
Dig this: the pl2303 *used* to work with linux...so why did they
"upgrade" it to the 2303X?
To break functionality with *nix users since all hardware companies
suck microsofts ***.
Serial ports should be serial
ports, period.
We're in complete agreement. Why *did* laptops stop having *real* 9-pin
serial ports on them?
Again: fucking microsuck tells the hardware co's what to do.
Not some "adapter" that plugs into the God forsaken USBto
slot on your PC. USB has valid uses but adapting a well known standard
USB is NOT one of them. Buy a serial card if your crap PC only camewith
USB like some of the junk PCs I have seen from Dell lately.
Cramming a pci card into a lappy would be quite the accomplishment!
