ah! I never checked that, but in that case, he can use NX to his ubuntu, and
then vnc or from there, since he will not run vnc over Internet.

I've had good luck with TightVNC ... both client and server are available
for Windoze. It allows file transfers between M$ machines, but not between
Linux/Win or Linux/Linux.
