Now I need to format the SD card to "FAT 16"
Since I started using Linux 8 years ago I have never formated anything.
You need to format the card exactly why? the camera formats the card. You
surely just need to read it under Linux, not format it.
There is an addendum to the instruction manual of the camera.
"ATC-2k supports the "FAT16" format of the SD card ONLY. It does not
support the "FAT32" format on the SD card. You must format the SD card
into "FAT16" format before filming."
It then goes on to explain how to format the device in a windows machine.
man mkdosfs sez it all ... including mention of hidden sectors needed by
digital cameras.
I hope you have better luck than my neighbor. She bought a case that
claimed to convert a camera to waterproof. She installed her expensive
and nearly-new Canon camera. Took it on a trip to the Carribean. Brought
home a soggy, salty camera. Hope you fare better!
