OK, although it's not Linux, I'm suggesting this because you like XFCE on
a derivative of FreeBSD, so on a modest machine you should try TrueBSD.
It's an XFCE installable liveCD, with a good range of included
applications, with the whole thing based on FreeBSD. From my experience
it runs well on a PII 300MHz with 128MB RAM. Freesbie is nice, but a lot
heavier on resources.
