Can I install linux (dual boot) while Vista is already installed? Thans
for
all your advise.

1) if you've narrowed it down to two, why not install and try them both?
(kubuntu is easily done by installing ubuntu and then adding the kde
desktop).

2) Certainly.

I also have a network drive (Linksys NSLU2 with attached harddrive formatted
EXT3). Is it easier to use ubuntu or suse (32 bit) when i wish to install
drivers like at x800? I also have a wifi multifunctional brother dcp-750CW.
Do I need Samba too for networkdrives at home? Thanks for all your advises.

It should be equally easy to access network devices with either one. Samba
is only needed when accessing MS stuff. Assuming the network drives
understand nfs that is preferable. Again, why not install both and see
which one you prefer? The major difference between suse and ubuntu are
package management systems - suse uses rpm (Redhat Package Management)
while ubuntu uses DEB (Debian package management). Some folks prefer one,
some the other.

I tried to download the dvd version opensuse from opensuse.org but i don't succeed. Is maybe the server down (for several days). I see mirmris but theirs file are only 63 MB instead of 4.1 GB. Whe can i find the dvd version?
