You can mount a few various generation IPODs like that. If you add in
something like Rockbox, you do away with syncing completely and just
rsync music to it or whatever. The iAudio models and the newer
Wolverines also mount that way. I have lusted after an iAudio X5 for
quite some time now. You can find wholesale deals on 5th generation
ipod videos and I use a 60 and 80g model on Ubuntu where they are
mounted up as mass storage.

I bet that there are whole bunches of other models that mount that way
as well. Perhaps some of the Creatives?
