Is there a fix for this? 1394 and OHCI kernel modules

It's 130 FAT32 external 1394 + USB2 drive. It works fine
using USB and works fine on my laptop using 1394.
Here is the error:
[17198035.972000] ieee1394: sbp2: Error logging into SBP-2 device - login timed-out
[17198035.972000] sbp2: probe of 0050770e00071002-0 failed with error -16
Don't know much about SCSI tunneling SBP-2 certainly not to fix it without
some help.
I would suggest you update to kernel 2.6.23.9, it has had quite many updates
compared to 2.6.17.
I'm currently downloading the live/install DVD of Kubuntu 7.10. It should
have a more current kernel. I'll try it in the live mode and see what
gives. I hate to upgrade kernels and stand a chance of busting other
things just to fix one non-essential problem. Thanks.
