I'd be less surprised if it was the other way round, ie how much is MS paying Seagate to have their drives preformatted to NTFS....after all, look at the FUD that arises when it appears that the open sauce (sic) Linux can't use them, not to mention that you can just plug the drive into windwos(TM) and the disk is ready to run - just like flash drives come preformatted for Windwos, and with software for Windwos, eg the recent 4Gb flash drive I purchased came with Windwos only software (eg anti-virus).
