Hi there

I am new to linux so be gentle. Simply put I have the following problem

1 a Sony Vaio pcgt-505ts with 64mb ram and 4 gb harddrive
2 NO repeat NO cd rom
3 Lan connectivity
4 usb memory stick 1gb.
5 machine will NOT boot from USB
6 machine currently has win98 on it ( god help me.)

So, I've read through the various websites and can find lots of answers
for
those lucky people that can boot from the memory stick or those rich
enough
to own an external cdrom :-) I can't do either. Is there a simple
technique
that emulates the download dsl.zip unzip to executable, run executable
and
replace the dreaded win98 with DSL so I can make the switch in 2008???
I'm
all for change :-)

Could this be of any use?

Sorry no, I don't have a floppy drive. Pathetic isn't it :-) all I have is
what is in the list above. Thanks though all information is good.
