I have a system that has two hd, the first (master) for winXP, the
second (slave) has partitions ext3 n swap for slack12, and there's
another partition but fat32 which I intend to use for win98. but win98
won't install on a slave hd. i'm looking for a solution.
Thats as far I recall a feature of micrsoft98, it had to be on master
first slice.
True, but the drive it's on can be moved to the slave after installation
and booted using a trick in lilo to make that idiot POS think that it is
still on the primary master drive.
IIRC grub can do that using "map"
His problem is installing it. How can he get Win98 to install itself onto
drive 0x81?
After it is installed there are lots of tricks to booting from it.
# Windows bootable partition config begins
other = /dev/hdd4
label = Win98
table = /dev/hda
# Windows bootable partition config ends
