BTW
While I write this email I downloaded, configured, compiled and installed
emacs. So now emacs works.

Well I'm not the most experiensed Linux use that I know. But I do know a
"some" about Linux. In fact I have hard to get help from any one when I need
it. Most people I know doesnät know much about Linux. I have one or two old
collegues who are expert of Linux. Talking to guys like you on knews groups
are usually the best way.
What I do when I set up a Linux webserver is to download, configure, make
(compile) and install the tools my self. I have tried to use the already
installed webserver and mysql server but for me its faster to download them
and build them by using the source code.
Especially when those users pay no attention, what so ever, to what
they're doing.
Fedora does, in fact, include emacs in its distribution... you have to
check the checkbox next to Emacs to install it.
There was "no option" for selecting Emacs I selected EVERY thing even the
extra stuff (And yes I thought that was strange too). Anyhow emacs was
downloaded, configured, compiled and installed as reflected to your answers
and wrote this reply. Once you've doen it it's easy the second time.
The last Fedora version I used (Fedore 5) did come with Emacs. Once you get
the X11 the Internet and every thing going then it's easy. But before you
get X11, working with Linux is a pain in the but and you get thrown back 20
years in time before the Windows bases OS's arrived.
Thanks for every ones help.
