I stated that I have used Gusty for months along side Windows with no
problem. But Lately Gutsy will not run, as also Hardy will not run.

<snip>

That's something I missed last time 'round - there may be a change
applied to both versions which has goofed up things or something has
gone amiss with the system itself ... hmmm. More info, please. Did
either have a kernel change *before* problems? If so, what do the
changelogs reveal?

Tell me about the hardware and verbatim of the error(s).

I'm at work now so I can't do anything now.
I wiped my drive last night and reinstall Ubuntu (Gutsy) alone and I
still got the freeze-up at the splash screen.

The first time that this happened was with the original install that I
had been using for some time. So that means something is amiss with my
system I presume.

I will install again and take note of everything. I will also look at
error files which is new to me. I have seen them but never used them.
Diagnosing a problem like this is new to me and I hope to learn some
useful stuff.

I may take a day or 2 to get the info posted but I'll be back. See you
then.

Thanks...
