That's something I missed last time 'round - there may be a change
applied to both versions which has goofed up things or something has
gone amiss with the system itself ... hmmm. More info, please. Did
either have a kernel change *before* problems? If so, what do the
changelogs reveal?

You do not state whetehr you use lilo or grub. Also make sure that you use
the verbose bootup not the graphical so that you can see all of the
messages as they come up. What message comes up as it is trying to boot.
