Re: Why Ubuntu?

Thus spake alvinj@xxxxxxxxxxx:

This is kinda old I know, but wanted to say to skatin'fool...

"skatin'fool" - cracks me up!

You nailed me... "that's me all over!:)"

Actually I just want it to work and not interested in messing with
it, I want it simple and quick and I'd rather mess with stuff like
this...

So someone's car analogy was a good one. :)

I collect knives and liked those I saw.

I liked fiddling around with DOS (late 80's) and so using Unix (Tin
and Pico mid 90's) was cool then came the need for Windows and that
stupid-little-mouse-thing so I could post pictures either from a
scanner or a camera... I was dragged kicking and screaming into
Windoze useage. :/

Ubuntu was simpler and slicker than Windoze! :)

Sk8r, I never noticed the bells and whistles. :)
That's how little attention I payed Ubuntu.
Just the way I wanted it. :)

How's that for an answer, OP?

Well sir, if you're happy ... so am I. I'm the sort who views a computer
simply as a tool. Like a knife. I want it stable in my hand, functional
and reliable. That's me, and it's a *very* good thing the world doesn't
revolve around me!!
