Could someone send me a suggestion or direct me to some source on

which would be helpful for me to install the wireless card properly and
start to surf.
I tried several times but without succes. I read something about
ndiswrapper, maybe this is a solution?

can you give us more info?
what distribution of the linux OS do you use?

did you install drivers for the ralink 2560 device?
(install "rt2x00-kmp-default" )

ndiswarpper is a software that let you run a windows driver to use it in a
linux OS. (that is the last resort IMO)
you can use "NdisInstaller" the gui soft for ndiswrapper.

Or to use/install it under root konsole (and openSUSE):
/usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -i /path/to/xx.inf
/usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -m
/sbin/modprobe ndiswrapper
/sbin/ifconfig wlan0 up
/etc/init.d/network restart

Running KDE 3.5.9 / openSUSE 10.3
