I could tell by his comments and wording that the original poster didn't
know enough to discern any useful data by looking at the startup scripts
even if he knew what they were and where to find them. This was a useless
suggestion in this instance.

No, not useless. Anyone with even half a clue could put that into Google,
and find the information he needed. Just because you are incapable of
logical, reasoned thinking, do not assume that nobody else can do it.
Dan's reply was the usual antagonistic/egotistic mantra, nothing more.
There was nothing "antagonistic/egotistic" about it. It was simply the
correct answer to the question asked.
Go see if you can learn something about Linux, instead of wasting your
time in here where you can't contribute anything useful, n00b.
