Subject: An interview question
A friend of mine was recently asked a question about troubleshooting
mail server on Linux.
One interview strategy is to ask a question which is 'open ended' to open
the 'field' of interest for discussion, which is going to become a dialog
between the interviewer and the interviewee to explore what the
interviewee knows and how the i-ee would go about developing the
troubleshooting -- not for a direct answer as if it were a mulitple choice
written test.
Is this a valid question in terms of inadequate data?
It isn't a question which has an 'answer', as stated. In the context
described, it is a topic of discussion for the interview.
