Nay. Every other day someone dumps vista for linux, and let's say Ubuntu
installs just fine on these lenovos, without any hunting for drivers, like
would be necessary with xp. Neither does it contain all the
updater-trojans and other call-home-ware and trialware associated with a
preloaded windows install on laps.

My company bought a large number of various Lenovo notebooks. The first
batches came pre-installed with Linux, but we found that we would remove
and re-install our own corporate version (based on Ubuntu). The latter
ones arrived with "Vista" pre-loaded. We returned the CDs, got the refund
for the "Vista" rubbish, and installed our usual corporate disk images.

There is no NO REASON to have any M$ rubbish-ware on any machine. M$ are
rapidly becoming an expensive irrelevance. Windows is (of course) just a
poor proprietary client for a Unix world!

Apparently you speak of a very small company as no real company uses Linux on a desktop or laptop.
