I feel your pain. This past summer I was on a brief vacation trip,
staying at a motel with a computer available for guest use. All I wanted
to do was use my Gmail account to send a short wish-you-were-here email
to a friend. The Dell was running some version of XP - I have no idea
which - and it was a piece of crap. The mouse was slowed to the point
where the cursor barely moved as I slid the little rodent all over the
pad. The only browser available was IE, another piece of crap. My
computer is over five years old, and it was an "entry-level" machine
when I bought it. Compared to this much newer-looking Dell on XP, mine
is at least twice as fast.

I sent my email, and left. It was one of the few times I've hated using
a computer in the 35 years I've been involved with them.

Maybe there should be some kind of therapy and/or support available
specifically for those who have been exposed suddenly to this kind of
thing?

"Windows-Using Sudden Shock Syndrome Sufferers" (WUSSSS), or something?
