The HP G2410 is actually listed as not supported, therefore the old XP
disk got dusted off just to do a family photo's collection job, that
being the shortest route to getting the damn thing scanning.

It's too bad you didn't have time (I assume) to order a scanner online.
You would doubtless have been able to find something more Linux
friendly.


The option to order online isn't on my list of things to do in this
lifetime as I have no confidence in the security of online banking and
purchasing. Thats why my bank has been instructed that any internet
access is to be assumed to be fraudulent.

I could have engaged the services of someone I know who does take that
risk, but like you said, time was creeping ever closer to the deadline.

Ah well, when I see something that does work properly, I'll be ready.
