Re: About Knoppix LiveCD 6

Sorry but the DVD link is only for Version 5.X DVD's.

People I have not used this forum before but can tell you that the
attitude and rudeness exhibited here would not be tolerated on a Linux
forum.

Sorry for correcting, but this is a Linux newsgroup, not a forum.

Linux users seem to be more polite and eager to help rather than
criticise and abuse.

There are always some people who can't be polite and sometimes the polite
people do get mad too, specially when a common question is asked 10 times in a
really short time and the posters would have got the answer faster if they had
just used a search engine like google.

Everbody has different levels of ability, both with using an operating
system, and with using the Internet. The person asking about Gparted
obviously has not had much Linux experience and does not realise that
Parted comes wrapped in several different GUI's. Instead of criticising
the person for not using the command line, how about educating them in
how to use Parted from the command line?

It may have been to much asked, let those who want to use GUI use GUI and
those who like to use command line do what they want.

The old saying: "You give a man a fish you feed him for a day, show him
how to fish and you feed him for life!" is appropriate here, as is the
Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Sorry for the lecture but I stumbled on this forum trying to track down
a link for the Knoppix 6.1 DVD and was disturbed at how some of you are
treating others. BTW the DVD version is available via torrent but is
running at 30k on my connection which runs around 450k when it is
moving, that is why I was looking for an FTP site.

You are talking about Adriane? That has version 6.0.1, not 6.1 and can be
downloaded from quite many ftp:s and is the latest official version according
to Knoppix homepage. Be sure that it's not some windroid who don't understand
version numbering and dropped the 0.
