Easier still, put the ssh command in a loop, so you automatically start
up a fresh one straight after a failure.
That works too, but then you need to setup an alternative way to start
it, as using it in a cron you will get the same issue as the OP and you
need to remember to see to that ssh don't startup in the background, as
then you flood your system with loads of connections.
