First Network Attached Storage Software Available at No Cost

NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 2003--Storage Computer
Corporation (AMEX: SOS - News; www.storage.com), a provider of
high-performance storage and data management systems, has announced
availability of CyberNAS RED(TM), a core performance Network Attached
Storage platform at no cost.

"With the introduction of a Linux-based, high-performance, NAS kernel
OS for free download, Storage Computer has succeeded in giving
customers what they need: a modular and open NAS engine that can be
customized and enhanced at additional cost only after the customer has
evaluated his needs," stated Jon William Toigo, CEO of Toigo Partners
International, a prominent industry consultancy. "I hope that Storage
Computer's approach resonates and starts an industry trend that will
benefit consumers tremendously. I expect that it will be welcome
technology for the Linux community who are looking for open,
inexpensive ways to increase capacity allocation efficiency and to
improve storage performance in their operating environments."

CyberNAS RED runs on RedHat Linux operating systems and can be
downloaded at no cost from www.storage.com/nasred. "We have had
exceptional positive feedback on all our CyberNAS installations to
date," stated Todd Viegut, Vice President of Marketing. "We expect the
Linux community, with CyberNAS RED downloads installed, to provide a
natural reference and installed base for future sales of the full
featured CyberNAS Version 2.2 solutions. CyberNAS RED is of real value
to those organizations seeking a performance NAS core functionality
with CIFS and NFS file management."

For those corporations who have adopted RedHat-Linux based operating
systems and require additional advanced commercial features, such as
snapshot, embedded RAID management and alerts, upgrades to the
CyberNAS Version 2.2 software are available and are also offered
through VAR and Systems Integrator channels who can provide integrated
solutions, installation, training, and application support.

"The introduction of a proven NAS product, running on a Linux platform
at no cost, should be extremely appealing to the RedHat community,"
stated John Webster of Data Mobility Group. "This is a bold and
subversive move that brings roll-your-own NAS to market and will help
Storage Computer regain market visibility and sales opportunities."
