ZHA OPEN OFFICE ALPHA RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT

We are happy to announce the availability of Zha-OpenOffice - alpha
release (Open Office with Tamil interface).

We invite users of Linux to install †OpenOffice for testing and
feedback.

You have two options to install:

1. To install starting from source follow the procedure at

2. To install using a binary installer follow the procedure at

This is part of a larger project Æ, to create a complete Tamil
Desktop (running Linux), which can be used by a Tamilian without
proficiency /knowledge of English for day to day computing (word
processing, browsing etc). The first release of Æ kaNini will be in
the month of Thai . It will include Tamil translations of KDE,
Mozilla, Open Office and Red Hat utilities.
