    --------------------

    Dear SourceForge.net user,

Are you a power user on SourceForge.net? Do you visit the site more
than once per week? This month we are introducing a set of premium
features that will make your development life easier. These new
features are the first of their kind to be incorporated into the site.
    I think you'll enjoy them.

Why are we doing this? First, we want to add powerful features for
those of you who use the site on a regular basis. These features are
based on feedback we've received from you during the past 12 months.
Secondly, these premium features are a way for us to cover the cost
of running the site. SF.net is very expensive to operate; your
financial support helps us add new features, more bandwidth, mirrors
and new servers. As a thank you, we have partnered with our sister
site, ThinkGeek, to offer you a free ThinkGeek T-shirt when you
sign-up for an annual subscription (read below).

Take a look at this page for more information:
    http://sourceforge.net/subscription.php

    Power User Premium Services:
    ----------------------------
    * Advanced search tools to find projects on SourceForge.net.
Includes ability to search on category, description and name. Also
includes boolean searching and stem word matching.

    * Advanced search within projects.
Boolean searching. Search all aspects of project at once. (pervasive
search across Trackers (Support Requests, etc.) and discussion forums).

    * Priority Technical Support for SF.net site usage.
Your Support Requests to the SF.net staff team will be moved to the
start of the queue for processing.

    * Project monitoring.
Have a complete view of ANYTHING that happens to a project. If it is
a support ticket, Feature Request, or forum entry, you'll know about
it. We'll email you on every change made within the project you are
monitoring. This generates additional email, but it is a great way
to stay on the front lines of the development process.

    * Direct Downloads
Download any file released on SourceForge.net in a hurry. No need
to use the website; download files directly from the command line.
If you need to add software to a remote server, this is the easiest
      way to do it.

    * Subscriber icon next to your name.
This icon shows the community that you are supporting SourceForge.net
      and the Open Source community.
    ----------------------------

These services are available either for $6.95 per month, or $39.00 annually.
For a limited time only, if you order an annual premium subscription, you
will receive a free ThinkGeek T-Shirt. You have more than 30 to choose

January Project of the Month: phpBB
    ---------------------------------------------
Today's online communities begin and end with communication. The more
discussions that arise on a site, the more content that is generated and
the more 'sticky' the community becomes as the amount of knowledge
increases. One of the most popular methods in building two-way
communication on a website is web-based forums, which are also referred
to as bulletin boards. SourceForge.net's January 2004 project of the
month, phpBB, is a powerful Open Source forum package written in PHP.
It is leading the pack in allowing websites admins to build powerful
discussion areas on their site. phpBB has had over 3.3 million downloads
from SourceForge.net since it's inception. The SF.net is very proud to
make phpBB project of the month.

February Project of the Month: Compiere ERP + CRM
    ---------------------------------------------
CRM (Customer Relations Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource
Planning) are two key software technologies that allow organizations to
streamline their business processes. ERP/CRM is a lucrative software
market that makes up some of today's largest technologies companies:
SAP, Oracle, and Peoplesoft. SourceForge.net's February 2004 project of
the month, Compiere ERP & CRM, unlike its expensive commercial cousins,
is an Open Source solution that companies can use to power their small
to medium size business. The project is one of SourceForge.net's top 10
projects in activity (out of 78,000) and is another great example of
Open Source software being used and deployed into the Enterprise.

Latest SF.net features and services page.
    ---------------------------------------------
The SF.net team maintains a page that lists recent changes and
enhancements that have been added to the site. The page is updated
weekly and shows latest improvements we have made to the site.

You can view this page at any time:
    http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=19242&group_id=1

The items on the page are not comprehensive; we list only what we feel
are the most prominent enhancements. A large number of enhancements are
merged in to the site each month; though the document contains
information back to July of 2003, our efforts have been steady and
ongoing, with many major new features added each month for at least the
    past year.
