InterSystems Announces Executive Appointments for
DeSantis, Deutsch, Nagle, Paladino
Promotions Reflect Dramatic Revenue Growth
of Database, Integration Software Firm
Cambridge, Mass.—May 4, 2004—InterSystems Corporation, the fastest
growing database software company, today announced that Joseph DeSantis,
Richard Deutsch, Robert Nagle and John Paladino have been named vice
president. The executive promotions followed a year of dramatic growth
for the company, a technology leader in database and application
integration software.
“After decades of sustained growth and profitability, including
increasing revenues throughout the burst of the dotcom bubble when the
overall database market shrunk, InterSystems had a banner year in 2003,”
says President and CEO Phillip T. (Terry) Ragon. “In addition to 40
percent revenue growth and record profits, IDG’s Computerworld
recognized our CACHÉ database with an Innovative Technology Award,
Gartner named CACHÉ as one of the top five relational database systems
on the Windows platform, and we launched our new Ensemble universal
integration platform. These executive promotions recognize those who
lead the teams responsible for that success.”
Joe DeSantis, of Lincoln, Mass., directs object technology development.
Prior to joining InterSystems in 1996, he was with Liant Software
Corporation, where he served as vice president of R&D. DeSantis also
co-founded Oakland Group, Inc., where he oversaw development of the
C-scape Interscape Management System. He studied electrical engineering
at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Richard Deutsch, from Natick, Mass., oversees InterSystems’ marketing
operations, with worldwide responsibility for the company’s marketing
programs. Deutsch came to InterSystems in 1995, after more than a decade
with IBM, where his focus was on marketing and communications
management. Prior to IBM, Deutsch was president and creative director of
a design and advertising agency. He is a graduate of Harvard University.
Robert Nagle, of Cambridge, Mass., directs systems software development
at InterSystems. Before joining the company’s executive team in 1998, he
spent five years at Harvard University, focusing on molecular modeling
and high performance computing. His background includes stints at
Molecular Simulations, Inc., Automatix, Cognition and Computervision. He
has a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Carnegie-Mellon University and
a Master’s in Mathematical Physics from University College, Cork.
John Paladino, from Melrose, Mass., directs InterSystems support,
quality assurance, internal computer operations and customer education
groups. Prior to joining the firm in 1984, he was a systems engineer
with New England Pathology, where he oversaw acquisition, implementation
and managing of multiple information technologies. Paladino studied
Electrical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
