VU-Meter for OSS Channels

Hello,

maybe not the correct newsgroup ... (hints welcome)

I need a little tool to display (like a VU-Meter) the activity on the
sound card(s) for the various inputs (Mic, Line1, etc).
The sound system i use is OSS.

Is there such a tool available ?
