Yes. Compared to traditional mice, the friction is a few magnitudes smaller.

After getting used to it, I prefer it much over traditional mice. No more
dragging the mouse around, no more balls that don't have enough friction
against the mouse mat but does have insane amounts of frictions against the
mouse shell, etc... More reliable, more accurate and more comfortable,
simply :-)
