I've written a small application which checks if the framebuffer device
exists and is accessable (kernel driver exists). I've simply opened the
"/dev/fb0" and send some ioctl to get information. So far it works, at
least on a system with a correct framebuffer. But I'm not sure if this
is the right way, what happens if the device is named different. Does
anyone know a better solution?
The source can be view here
"http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/wyodesktop/wyoDesktop/checkdfb/sr
c/app.cpp?view=markup".
BTW it would be nice if someone could run this small sample on a system
without a framebuffer and tell me the outcome. You can download it from
here "http://wyodesktop.sourceforge.net/checkapp.html".
