    Thanks for that advice.

    Far out! I can't believe the hardware specs getting thrown around! I'm
    developing on a P3 450MHz-256Mb, but I want to write one program in
    particular that will run on my old 486-66 16mb ram (non-GUI in that case
    though).

    Sounds like C++ is my best bet - I'm working through a tutorial and really
    it doesn't look that hard compared to VB ;-)

    This is a great newsgroup BTW. Excellent responses.
